The soft green of the alder body and the roasted flame maple neck form the backdrop of a myth from ancient Greece. In the woods where nymphs and fauns lived their lives, devoted to and in harmony with the nature that surrounded them, there once was a beautiful nymph, passionately engaged in a love affair with a young faun. She could listen for hours to the sound of his pan flute as if enchanted, the melodies whirling through the trees and touching everyone who heard them. While the faint sounds still echoed through the forest, the loving couple had settled down on a bed of soft leaves and moss. They loved each other whenever they could. Their love brought the couple a daughter they named Flora, whose spirit still lives in everything that grows and blooms.
